Fort Hood helicopter crash kills 4 soldiers

FORT HOOD, Texas — A UH-60 helicopter crashed on the grounds of Fort Hood Tuesday evening, killing the four crew members it was carrying, according to a spokesperson for the base.

Emergency crews located the wreckage after an extensive search, the Fort Hood Public Affairs Office said.

The crew members were with Division West, First Army, and on a routine training mission at the time of the crash.

A board will be named to investigate the cause of the crash.

Names of the deceased won’t be released until 24 hours after next of kin are notified.
