The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery of an Opelousas truck stop.

Samuel Alexander Burns III, 33, of Houston, was arrested and charged with armed robbery just a day after the incident, according to Captain Clay Higgins.

Authorities say a man armed with a knife walked into the Kountry Quick Stop on Highway 167 around November 28, 2015. He then allegedly threatened the cashier before and ran out of the store with about $800 in cash.

Louisiana State Police were able to locate Burns and hold him until he was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail. He is currently on a $100,000 dollar bond pending trial.
