Duson homicide suspect arrested in Colorado

Miles Guidry, who is wanted for the murder of Claire Walley, 26, has been arrested in Colorado, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Captain John Babin said Guidry was captured by the Glendale Police Department after he was found asleep in his vehicle early Monday morning.

Glendale police officers conducted a warrant check and found he was wanted here in Lafayette.

He is currently being held in the Arapahoe County Detention Center until authorities can transfer him to Louisiana.

Claire Walley, Guidry’s girlfriend and a grad student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, was found dead at home in the 400 block of Lagneax Road in Duson on November 29, 2015.

An arrest warrant was issued for Guidry on November 30, 2015, on the charge of second-degree murder.

Guidry was arrested for crashing his truck into the Lafayette Habitat for Humanity office, driving drunk, running from the police, and illegally firing a gun, in April 2014.
