FENTON, La. (AP) — Louisiana State Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed on U.S. 165, two miles north of Fenton.
Troop D spokesman Sgt. James Anderson says 56-year-old Kevin L. Adams was standing near his home when he was hit Sunday. Adams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anderson says a vehicle was traveling north in the right lane before 7 p.m. when the juvenile driver saw another vehicle on the side of the road with its hazard lights on. The driver moved into the left lane and struck Adams, who was standing in the road.
The juvenile, whose name was not released, was not charged.
Toxicology samples will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
