The Revelers are keeping Lafayette’s Grammy streak alive. The local Cajun/zydeco band and their “Get Ready” CD has been nominated for the 2015 Best Regional Roots Album Grammy.

Nominations were released Monday morning by the Recording Academy. At least one Lafayette-area musician has been a nominee or winner now for nine-straight years.

The Revelers are the lone local nominee in this year’s Regional Roots field. Band members include Blake Miller, Daniel Coolik, Chas Justus, Eric Frey, Glenn Fields and Chris Miller.

Other Regional Roots nominees include Jon Cleary, Natalie Ai-Kamauu, Keali’I Reichel and Windwalker and The MCW.

The Best Regional Roots Grammy category, which includes Cajun, zydeco, polka, Hawaiian, Native American and New Orleans brass bands, is four years old. All four winners have been from Louisiana, including the Cajun trio Courtbouillon (Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Wilson Savoy), zydeco veteran Terrance Simien and Cajun legend Jo-El Sonnier.
