Calls are trickling in to a hotline designated for reports about bus driving problems in Lafayette Parish.
The Advertiser reports the 1-800-HOWSMYDRIVING stickers have been on the district’s buses for about two months.
Transportation Director Damon Evans estimated that about 100 calls have come into the number during that time frame.
Evans says most of the calls have been about issues such as bus drivers cutting in front of other vehicles, speeding buses or bus drivers running yellow lights.
He says the stickers are part of what Superintendent Donald Aguillard has called a “robust safety initiative” across the district.
Other elements of the initiative include more safety training for all employees, a detailed review of all accidents and inspections of physical facilities.
