The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be holding active shooter drills Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Griffin Hall and a portion of Rex and E. Louis Streets will be closed during these times. The public is urged to avoid the area during these drills.
The UL Police Department, Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette General Medical Center, the Lafayette Police Department and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the drills, according to a press release from UL.
The drills are a chance for law enforcement and emergency medical personnel to continue being proficient when dealing with large events and multiple agencies, the press release says.
