A California judge denied bail for the friend accused of supplying weapons to the two San Bernardino shooters.
Enrique Marquez, a childhood friend of Syed Rizwan Farook, appeared in court for a bail hearing Monday.
Marquez, 24, has been charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorism – among other charges.
Investigators said Marquez bought two semi-automatic rifles in preparation for terror attacks that never happened.
They said Marquez later gave those rifles to Farook and Farook’s wife, Tashfeen Malik.
Those two then carried out mass shooting in San Bernardino, CA, which left 14 people dead earlier in December.
U.S. officials have said Marquez told investigators he did not know about the plans for that attack.
The criminal complaint also does not accuse him of knowing.
