Troopers seize over 200 lbs. of marijuana on I-10 near Henderson

ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY) – A Tennessee man is now in jail after Troopers seized approximately 202 lbs. of marijuana from his truck, according to the Louisiana State Police.

Michael Willis, 59, of Lafollette, TN, faces charges for drug and traffic violations.

Master Trooper Brooks David said authorities pulled over Michael Willis, 59, of Lafollette, TN, around 8 a.m. this morning for following too close to a car on I-10, near Henderson.

During the traffic stop, “Troopers became suspicious of Willis’ behavior and could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the truck,” according to David.

Willis was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Following Too Close.

Investigators estimate the street value of the marijuana seized to be around $202,000.
