Lafayette man continues to recover from falling off Carencro Parade float

Another Acadiana man who fell from a float during Mardi Gras continues to recover from his injuries in a New Orleans hospital.

Ottis Alfred, 45, of Lafayette suffered severe head injuries, including a cracked skull resulting in swelling in his brain, after he fell from a float he was riding in during the Carencro Parade on Saturday, February 6th.

According to his wife, Stephanie, Alfred is showing signs of improvement and is receiving therapy.

She says her family and their friends, including a bike group called Dark Angels and Knights, have participated in the Carencro Parade for about three years.
