Ottis Alfred has returned home from the Touro Hospital in New Orleans after falling off a float during the Mardi Gras Parade in Carencro.
Alfred has been hospitalized since the Saturday before Mardi Gras when he fell from his float as it began to roll.
He was treated for severe head injuries including a cracked skull that resulted in swelling in his brain.
Alfred says he’s happy to be home and counting his blessings.
“There’s nothing like being home and i’m just happy to be here with my family and grandkids.”
Alfred says he has more therapy to complete and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
