Running of the Ducks holds fundraiser at Zea’s to adopt out ducks

The greater Acadiana running of the ducks is only a week away, last night a special fundraiser was held at Zea’s in Lafayette.

The Boys and Girls Club partnered with Zea Rotisserie and Grill to give Acadiana residents an opportunity to make adoptions while also enjoying some delicious food.

Participants could purchase single ducks for $5 or the “Adopt a six quack” which was a special when buying five ducks and receiving the 6th one free.

Acadiana’s Running of the Duck’s chair person, Dale Miniex tells KLFY that these donations are a great way to invest in the future of local kids.

“The Boys and Girls club is a very very important for kids. It helps with their homework assignments, with tutorials, we have arts and crafts, we have a computer lab. Remember, invest in the kids today because they are our future leaders of tomorrow.”

According to Miniex, all proceeds gained last night stay in Acadiana.
