The Lafayette Police Department continues to look for of Kervin Gallien Jr, the suspect in a shooting that happened in the 400 block of Marigold Loop that left a man in critical condition Monday night.
Some residents say despite the occasional trouble, the neighborhood surrounding Marigold Loop is relatively quiet and tight-knit. With the suspect still at large and information scarce, some residents say they’ve felt uneasy since the shooting.
Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette PD says
“The 43-year-old victim was found in the street with a single gun shot wound to the chest. He remains hospitalized at this time in critical but stable condition.”
A warrant has been issued for Gallien arrest for attempted second-degree murder.
Some details of the shooting differ between residents. Some say they heard it was accidental while others believe it was intentional.
After processing the scene and speaking to witnesses, the Lafayette Police Department is charging Gallien with attempted second-degree murder.
“Detectives, based off of information and evidence that they found at the scene were able to obtain an arrest warrant for that individual and they believe him (Gallien) to be the shooter of the victim.”
