A meeting was held Monday afternoon to discuss how the community can get involved with the neighborhood planning of I-49.
The purpose of the meeting was to get committee members ready to answer any questions residents may have about the future construction.
It was suggested the slogan for the project be “Our voice. Our vision” to represent the community’s opinion.
Chairwoman of Evangeline Thruway Redevelopment Team Skyra Rideaux tells KLFY’s Emily Giangreco, the committee wants to hear what the community has to say.
“We definitely want to make sure that they have a voice, that their voice is heard, that they get a vision for their community,” said Rideaux, “because they’re the ones who are going to live in it.”
Meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Monday of every month.
