Baton Rouge man dies after accidental shooting on Bertrand Drive

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Police say a man who was accidentally shot at an apartment complex has died.

Corporal Nicole Benoit Oakes said the victim is Colin Norwood, 21, of Baton Rouge.

Officers responded to the complex in the 1400 block of Bertrand Drive around 12:30 a.m.

Detectives interviewed another 21-year-old man who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting.

The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
