LAFAYETTE, La. (The Daily Advertiser) – Rapper Lil Wayne will perform a free concert for University of Louisiana at Lafayette students Monday, April 18, at 8 p.m. in the Cajundome.
The free concert, which the New Orleans rapper announced last month, will be open to students, faculty, and staff and are available on a first-come basis. Tickets will be available here.
Members of the Zeta Xi chapter of UL’s Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity won the concert from TIDAL music-streaming service’s online Social Wave for Change competition. Alpha Phi Alpha collected nearly 7,000 donated bottles of water for those affected by a contaminated water source in Flint, Michigan. An online vote determined the winner of the free concert.
An active UL ID is required to secure a ticket. When you secure your student ticket online, you can also reserve three escort tickets for fellow Ragin’ Cajuns, outside guests, or family members at no cost. These seats are guaranteed to be next to each other.
Tickets go on sale today at noon, and can be secured through Ticketmaster or at the Cajundome box office at 444 Cajundome Blvd.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. Shuttles will be available from the Student Union and Rex Street to the Cajundome from 6:30 p.m. until one hour after the show ends.
