Gov. Edwards announces day to honor children’s advocacy groups

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – Gov. John Bel Edwards has proclaimed April 21 as Geaux Blue for Kids Day in honor of the work of children’s advocate programs across the state of Louisiana.

The special day was designed to highlight the work of children’s advocacy programs. will hold a Capitol Day in the rotunda of the Louisiana State Capitol to showcase the work of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

First lady Donna Edwards will join the advocates as they honor those individuals who have worked for children. There is an awards ceremony scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Capitol Welcome Center and a reception will follow.
