State Police: Teen killed in high speed crash

A single vehicle crash Sunday morning killed a teenager from Alexandria, La. and high speed is considered a primary factor in the crash.

Troopers responded to the crash around 12:15 a.m., on LA Hwy 112 at Fish Hatchery Road.

Police say 18 year old Guillermo Maldonado-Ramos was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed, lost control and exited the right side of the roadway.

After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a culvert and a utility pole before overturning.

Ramos was wearing his seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
