Man accused of trying to break into vending machines at Acadiana High

SCOTT, La. (The Daily Advertiser) – A man was arrested Tuesday morning when he was allegedly caught attempting to break into vending machines at Acadiana High School.

An officer with the Scott Police Department was conducting a foot patrol on school grounds when he heard a loud banging coming from the common area, according to a press release from SPD. After backup arrived, authorities discovered a man, identified as Michael Taylor, 55, of Lafayette, attempting to break into the vending machines.

Taylor was arrested and charged with criminal damage to coin operated devices, simple criminal damage to property and illegal carrying of a weapon.

No bond has been set at this time.
