ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) – The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for multiple suspects said to be involved in a major counterfeit check cashing ring in the parish.
The sheriff’s office, along with other law enforcement agencies across Acadiana have been investigation the ring.
The suspects listed here are wanted in connection with this investigation.
According to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, the checks are being manufactured and cashed at local businesses, defrauding those businesses out of thousands of dollars.
The investigation has led to 11 suspected being arrested and totaling a loss of over $30,000.
The sheriff’s office says the counterfeit check ring still has numerous suspects at large with more checks coming in weekly.
Sheriff Guidroz urges businesses to always demand a valid pictured ID and to obtain additional information not listed on the check before cashing it.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on these suspects to contact them.
