Three arrested in connection with Mamou child abduction

MAMOU, La. (KLFY) – A mother who is accused of abducting her child last week is now in the Evangeline Parish jail.

Elaine Freeman was transferred to Mamou for booking on Monday from a detention facility in Jackson, Mississippi.

She has since been transferred to the Evangeline Parish jail.

Jaylon Bradley, 12, who Elaine Freeman did not have custody of, was reported missing last Tuesday.

Louisiana State Police said he was found safe the next day with her in Jackson, Mississippi.

Elaine Freeman has been charged with simple kidnapping. No bond is set at this time.

Two other arrests have been made in this case.

Keyaina Freeman is charged with obstruction of justice and Daphne Fontenot is charged with simple kidnapping and criminal trespassing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
