Teen shot to death in Destrehan, arrest made

DESTREHAN, La. (WWL-TV) — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one teenaged student dead from Destrehan High School Wednesday night.

Around 8 p.m., deputies were called to the corner of East Harding and Eighth streets in New Sarpy.  Deputies found the victim, Kendall Williams Jr.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Javon Wells in connection with the fatal shooting.

According to the sheriff’s office, Wells was booked with second-degree murder and he is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correction Center.
