It will be a year come July when it was first announced the new name of the Horse Farm would possibly be announced last fall.
Seasons changed and nary a word was uttered.
However, the suspense ends sometime around 12:30 p.m., May 14 at the Party in the Park’s fundraising festival at the 100-acre green and shaded entity on Johnston Street.

Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit behind the plan to build and maintain a public park at the Horse Farm, made the announcement.
Party in the Park is set for 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Gates open 10:45 a.m. and musical acts will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will feature Sweet Cecilia, Brass Mimosa, Soul Express Brass Band, Lane Mack, Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, Zydeco Radio, and Terry & the Zydeco Bad Boys.

Tickets are $15 in advance or at the gate.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $100 and will include special perks such as VIP parking, VIP viewing tent of the stage, catered food and beverages.
