Suspects sought in armed robbery on E. Simcoe Street

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a 60-year-old man at gunpoint early this morning.

Corporal Paul Mouton said the victim was walking to work around 3:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of E. Simcoe Street. when he was approached by the suspects.

Both suspects pulled out a handgun, pushed the man to the ground and told him to empty his pockets.

The two men stole the victim’s wallet and cellphone and ran towards 12th Street.

Both suspects are described as black males, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing black clothing.

Mouton said the victim was not injured during the robbery.
