3 arrested for stealing guns from Broussard sporting goods store

BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY) – Police have arrested three suspects who allegedly stole six guns while burglarizing Buckfins-N-Feathers sporting goods store early Monday morning.

Chief Brannon Deccou said Stephon Moore, 17, of Lafayette, and two other 16-year-old males admitted to committing the burglary at the business.

Officers recovered two semi-automatic handguns from Moore, one semi-automatic handgun from the first juvenile suspect. one semi-automatic handgun and one AR-15 .223 long rifle

One semi-automatic handgun and one AR-15 .223 long rifle were recovered from the second juvenile suspect.

All of the suspects were charged with simple burglary of a business.

Moore and the second juvenile suspect was subsequently charged with two counts of possession of stolen property.

The first juvenile suspect was also charged with possession of stolen property.

Deccou tells News 10 his officers are still trying to recover the sixth gun that was stolen during the burglary.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette Police Department, and the Carencro Police Department assisted Broussard Police with the investigation.
