LAFAYETTE (KLFY) – Friends and family gathered today at the apartment of Ashley Metz’s mother to offer support.
The Lafayette Sheriff’s Department said on Tuesday, June 21, they found a body in a burning car on Old Spanish Trail. Metz’s mother Carla Dean said an officer came and told her the body in the vehicle could be her daughter.
Metz’s lifelong friend Kayla Etienne said she is trying to do anything she can to help with the investigation.
“I’ve been going on to social media asking people to give us help. I’ve been going to detectives…She deserves justice,” Etienne said.
Another body was found June 21 in another burning vehicle on the 100 Block of Disette Road in Carencro.
The father of Metz’s boyfriend, Brouklynn Hill, said Hill is missing and could possibly be the male victim in the Carenco vehicle fire.
“I know that she did love him and that was the person she wanted to be with,” Etienne said, referring to Hill.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office asks to please call them if anyone has any information on the murder investigation.
