MORSE, La. (KLFY)– A Merryville man is accused of second-degree murder after sheriff’s deputies say he allegedly struck a victim in the head and drove off with the victims body.
Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said the homicide occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Redbird Road near Morse, Louisiana.
Ryan Tucker, 32, allegedly struck an acquaintance in the head with an object, then placed the victim into a vehicle and left the scene, according to Gibson.
A witness told authorities that the victim was unconscious when the vehicle left.
Gibson believes Tucker was returning to the Merryville area in Beauregard Parish, where Tucker was located with the help of the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office and Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.
During the stop, the victim was determined to have been dead.
Investigators have not determined a motive at this time for the homicide.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Ryan Tucker who was arrested and booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail on one count of second-degree murder. Tucker will be extradited to Acadia Parish sometime this week.
