(Houma, La.) Sheriff Deputies in Terrebonne Parish responded to a 911 call Friday afternoon of a 4 month old child being locked inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Southland Mall in Houma.
Police say the initial call indicated that the baby had been crying and then stopped.
Deputies who arrived on scene were able to use an unlocking device to unlock the door and save the child, who was then brought inside of the mall to get relief from the heat.
An investigation has determied that the 4 month old child was locked inside of the vehicle by accident.
