Lafayette, LA. (KLFY) Police are investigating a suspicious death in North Lafayette after a woman was found dead inside a house at 225 Conrad Street.
Family and friends are grieving the death of their loved one. The victim’s name has not been released by police, but friends identified the woman as Sheree Williams. Those close to her describe her as a joyful person who loved her family and would do anything for her three daughters.
“That was her life, her girls, and they loved her dearly. She had a bond with those girls every mother wishes they had.” said a friend of Williams who asked to remain anonymous.
Police responded just before 11 Monday morning. Friends say Williams was living with her boyfriend. Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police says the person who found the body hadn’t been to the house in several days.
“The resident of the home arrived home, was searching the inside of the home when they located a female, dead, in one of the rooms. She then backed out of the house and contacted police immediately.”
The same friend of Williams who asked to remain anonymous says they’ve known each other for years and was shocked to hear the news of her death.
“Sheree was a fun person to be around, always made you laugh, had your back in any situation. She was a go-getter. She was the kind of person if you’re having a bad day, she’ll come and change your whole mood.”
The friend says she’s heartbroken for the family, who were on the scene including her daughters.
“I couldn’t even walk over there, just knowing the pain they’re in. How do you start the healing process from this point…they’re kids? No one should have their life taken like that.”
Williams estranged husband Corey tells News Ten he cherishes the time they spent together and says she was a good mother.
