Church Point police officer accused of attempted 2nd-degree murder

CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) – A Church Point police officer is now in jail after being accused of attempted murder and domestic abuse, according to Chief of Police Albert Veneble.

Veneble said officer Terrance Garrick, Jr. was arrested Saturday night after a domestic disturbance involving his wife. Garrick is currently on administrative leave without pay.

Garrick was booked into the Acadia Parish jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder, domestic abuse battery and battery with a dangerous weapon.
