ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY) –  Flood waters continue to cover many parts of St. Martin Parish.

“I thought it was going down yesterday then I woke up this morning and saw all the water and now I’m starting to get worried,” said Brennon Boggs.

Brennon Boggs lives on Leed Champagne Road. Boggs has to walk through chest deep water just to get to his home.

“Hip boots, waders, we got a little boat next door that we are riding around in,” said Boggs.

Boggs also said he has seen some unwanted guests swimming close by.

“We’ve seen quite a few snakes, a few alligators but were used to that.”

Boggs said his house is just inches away from being flooded

“We are about 6 to 8 inches from getting in.”

Boggs said he is hoping to keep the house dry, but his other belongings weren’t so lucky .

“My shed and everything is all flooded, lawn mowers and four wheelers, everything is all flooded.”

Boggs said dealing with a flood is unfortunate, but said he and his family are making the best of the situation.

“Oh yeah, we are making the best of it. It’s a mess, but we are having fun.”
