LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) Due to last week’s flooding, some pet owners may have become separated from their animals during an evacuation.

The Lafayette Animal Control Center (LACC) will open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Aug. 20 for pet owners who suspect their animal may have been rescued by LACC following last week’s flood event.

Those looking for a lost pet should visit the shelter in person (613 W. Pont Des Mouton Rd. in Lafayette) to see if their pet was picked up.

Shelter volunteers and employees are not able to identify lost pets over the phone.
