LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) Festival de Musique in partnership with United Way of Acadiana announced today an August 27th and 28th benefit concert to support South Louisiana disaster relief efforts.
“The recent flooding has devastated communities throughout Acadiana and as the waters recede, the need will continue to rise,” Event Organizer Ronnie Cormier said.
Captain Clay Higgins, formerly of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office will do the opening prayer each day. The Voice Season 8 finalist Koryn Hawthorne will follow with a rendition of “How Great Thou Art.”
All proceeds from the event will support the United Way of Acadiana in its Flood Relief efforts.
The two-day concert will be held at Parc Internatinale in downtown Lafayette.
The concert gets underway Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m and 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m on Sunday.
Admission is $10 per person. 12 and under – FREE.
Cajun Music Star Jamie Bergeron, who is battling colon cancer, will close out the show.
Other artist scheduled to appear are Bayou Crossroads, Ray Cormier, Richard LeBouef and the Two Steps, Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys and High Performance.
