KROTZ SPRINGS, La. (KFLY) – The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office has temporarily assigned a school resource officer to Krotz Springs Elementary School over concern of a student accused of murder returning to the school.
Krotz Springs Mayor Carroll Synder and Police Chief Susie Lacassin requested the school resource officer after parents expressed concerns over the student, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
The sheriff also commented:
“The assignment of the resource officer is temporary. The officer assigned to Krotz Springs Elementary is a seasoned and trained school resource officer. His duties in addition to providing a safe learning environment for the students and staff, will be to patrol the school campus and class rooms for the safety of all the children and teachers. Nothing will be allowed to interrupt the academic teaching of the kids.”
