NEW ORLEANS (WWLTV) – Delvin Breaux broke his fibula in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders.
Head coach Sean Payton confirmed the news at his Monday morning press conference. Payton said Breaux had surgery Monday morning to repair a fractured fibula and will be out 6 weeks.
Breaux initially became injured during the second quarter and was forced to the trainer’s table. He came back after halftime and had to be helped off the field. He was then carted to the locker room.
Because of Breaux’s injury, three other cornerbacks – De’Vante Harris, Ken Crawley and P.J. Williams – got their first taste of action in the regular season.
