Jennings man arrested on social media threat charges

JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) A Jennings man has been arrested and charged after posting a violent threat on social media Thursday.

Authorities say the message was posted on the Facebook page of 39 year old Rusty Paul Leblanc.

It read “wish I knew how to construct a car bomb cause I have my mind set on a municipal building”, according to Public Information Officer Chris Ivey.

Leblanc was charged with communicating of false information of a planned arson (bomb threat) after deputies obtained a statement from him admitting to the post.

He was booked into the parish jail with no bond.
