“He just was crying tears at the corner like he was lost,” said Aniza Fuselier.

AnizaFuselier and her cousin Nagwun  Fuselier were walking home from the bus stop when they noticed an unfamiliar face.

“There was nobody but him just standing on the sidewalk and then it started to rain, he started to cry and I brought him home,” said Nagwun Fuselier.

The four-year-old boy is a student at Ossun Elementary School. Lafayette Parish School Board Chief Administrative Officer Joe Craig said there was a mix up at the school during the bus loading process.

“The kids are brought out from their classes and are sorted by the animal, which is the bus that they ride, apparently, the student was not with the right group of animals and was placed on the wrong bus.”

And that’s how the young boy ended up on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Delahoussaye Drive, which is about ten minutes away from the boy’s house. Craig said the school board is investigating why the boy was left alone.

“Typically, especially with the younger children, the kids exit the bus and the bus driver watches to make sure each child pairs up with a parent, or guardian, or sibling. When the bus driver let the kids exit you wouldn’t typically leave until everybody is paired up,” said Craig.

Fuselier found a contact number in the boy’s book bag and notified his parents. Fuselier’s motherKimberly Fuselier said she is proud of her son for helping the boy find his way home. feel good. he made me a very proud mom.
