Acadiana Symphony Orchestra prepares to open 32nd season with ‘Symphonic Landscapes’ performance on Passe Partout

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra is preparing for it’s 32nd season opener this Saturday, September 24th.

‘Symphonic Landscapses: Beauty of Natural Science’ will be performed at the Heymann Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

The Orchestra will begin it’s five year artistic vision exploring the relationship between orchestral sounds and different areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Saturday’s performance will feature musical and photographic depictions of the Grand Canyon, Iceland and more landscapes, along with two original displays of symphonic percussion works by Chinese composer, Changiun Xu, and local artist, Danny Devillier, performed by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Troy Breaux.

Westwater Arts and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be guest artists for the season opener.
