LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Lafayette Regional Airport is holding its 27th Annual Aviation Fun Day.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Station located at 223 Jet Ranger X Drive. Admission is free.
“Aviation Fun Day is a highlight of the fall season for children ages 5-12 across the region.” States a news release, the event will have games, rides, hands on activities, and demonstrations.
In addition to educational activities and tours that give kids a behind the scenes glimpse of the daily operations of a commercial airport and an up-close look at aircraft, children will see a firefighting demonstration from the ARFF team.
A bus tour of the airfield will begin at 10:45 a.m., event organizers say to wear comfortable shoes as parents and kids are able to explore large areas of the airport facilities.
Each child must have a parent with them to attend the event.
Due to space limitations, event organizers are asking that each child attend with just one parent if possible.
