Alexandria PD: Two clown-masked suspects charged with illegal use of weapon


ALEXANDRIA, La. (KLFY)— Two teens have been arrested after police said they were wearing clown-masked and firing a flare gun on top a vehicle yesterday afternoon, KALB reports.

Officers said on Oct. 2, they responded to a call that stated “several black males were on the roof of a car, firing a weapon”. While in route a caller reported that the vehicle that the males were standing on was moving.

According to a news release, authorities were able to locate the vehicle on the 1800 block of Yale Street in Alexandria Louisiana.

Officers said when they approached the vehicle, three males fled the scene and began firing. Two of the suspects were later found and detained.

As local law enforcement searched the area nearby they said an orange flare gun which had been fired and clown mask were found in an ally.

Johnathen Hall, 17, and Desmand Newton, 17, were both charged with terrorizing, illegal use of a weapon, masking without a permit and resisting an officer. They were both booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
