SCOTT, La. (KLFY) – Police say they have arrested two men in connection with the kidnapping of a juvenile in Scott.
Witnesses told investigators the suspects confronted the victim after he got off the school bus and forced him into their vehicle.
One of the suspects was armed with a wooden baseball bat and a large knife.
Scott police officers and Lafayette Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident just before 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Lebesque Road.
Investigators found the suspect’s vehicle outside of the victim’s home.
Police Chief Chad Leger said Chris Stoufflett, 21, of Scott, and Jacob Russo, 20, of Youngsville, confronted the “victim after they learned he could have been responsible for a recent residential burglary.”
The two suspects allegedly drove the victim to his home where they suspected the victim was keeping stolen property.
Stoufflett admitted to using a bat and knife to force the victim into his vehicle, according to Leger.
Investigators said Russo admitted to knowing of the incident and accompanying Stoufflett.
Stoufflett was charged with aggravated kidnapping and Russo was charged with principle to aggravated kidnapping.
Both suspects were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
