CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) – A man is accused of taking police on a high speed chase through the city of Crowley Saturday night.
Police stopped the man around 11:51 p.m. Saturday as he was driving in the area of South Avenue H and East Ash Street.
The driver, Gerald M. Grogan, 41, of Crowley, got out of his car, then got back in and sped off, according to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard.
Officers chased Grogan through the city until he ran from his car near East 16th Street.
Broussard said the man damaged a fence when he tried unsuccessfully to jump over while running from officers.
Officers arrested Grogan on charges of failure to signal, driving under suspension, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, simple criminal damage to property, and no insurance.
Grogan was booked into the Acadia Parish jail on a $7,250 bond.
