LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – News 10 has learned an assistant District Attorney of the 15th Judicial District had resigned and a top ranking official with the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force was transferred from his post last Friday.
News 10 is also looking into whether there is a possible connection between the firing and transfer.
Interim Police Chief Reginald Thomas confirmed both the firing and the transfer but did not comment on a connection between the two.
Thomas said he could not comment on the nature of the relationship at this time.
The two law enforcement officials have been identified as Captain Dewayne Prejean and Assistant District Attorney Celeste White.
None of the work performed by ADA White has been called into question.
Thomas said, “No disciplinary action or investigation has been enacted by the Lafayette Police Department.”
White handled cases for the metro narcotics task force.
.Thomas said there will be “no further comment at this time.”
