Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office holds unwanted prescription take back day

ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY)—Got Drugs? The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office can help you out, partnering with the DEA, authorities are holding a take-back day for unwanted medications.

According to a news release, the Vermilion Municipal and Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force in Partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration are holding the event. The agencies are encouraging residents to bring unwanted medications to be properly disposed of. (Intra-venous solutions and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.)

Authorities said residents can remain anonymous throughout the drop-off, no identification will be required and no questions will be asked.

Sheriff Mike Couvillion said the event will talk place Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at two drop-off locations; the CVS located at 100 South Cushing and the CVS located at 1100 Veterans Memorial Drive in Abbeville.
