LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The Ragin’ Cajuns played Appalachian State Wednesday night in a nationally televised game. As always, fans flocked to Cajun Field show support for their hometown team.
UL-Lafayette fan Carl Hamilton said he tailgates every game, no matter if the game falls in the middle of the work week.
“We normally tailgate every game. We usually have a motor home but tonight’s game was kind of short notice,” Hamilton said.
Wednesday night’s game was televised on ESPN2.
“It feels great, that’s why we play during the week, to have an ESPN game and be on television,” said George Horstmann, UL-Lafayette fan.
“I hope the Cajuns win. Appalachian State is a good team. I think we can do it. I mean, we look good in a lot of games, a lot of close games, overtime games. We need to win,” Hamilton said.
Fans decked out all in white during the game, creating a whiteout throughout the stadium.
Some fans tailgating said no matter the outcome of the game, they’ll be out bright and early for the next Ragin’ Cajun gameday.
