BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY)— Deputies arrest an Addis man for attempting to sell methamphetamine to an undercover deputy, authorities said.
Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies were following an investigation into reports of suspected illegal drug activity which led them to a parking lot in the 1900 block of Rees St. in Breaux Bridge.
According to a news release, Chad Fonseca, 35, attempted to sell over an ounce of methamphetamine to the undercover narcotics agent who met him.
Following Fonseca’s arrest, deputies said they located over an ounce methamphetamine and also a concealed loaded handgun in Fonseca’s waistband.
Chad Fonseca was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule II CDS (methamphetamine, over 28 grams), illegal carrying of a weapon (concealed weapon), illegal carrying of weapon in the presence of a CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his arrest, Fonseca was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
