OPELOUSAS, La. (KFLY)— Two Lafayette Parish fugitives have been arrested in St. Landry Parish after an anonymous tip was received, said authorities.
Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said on Oct 18, the Opelousas City Marshal’s warrant teamed received a tip which had come from Lafayette Crime Stoppers referring to two fugitives wanted in Lafayette Parish seen in St. Landry Parish.
A news release stated that the anonymous tip was verified and on Oct. 19, the Marshal’s Office and St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office located Stanley J. Broussard, 46, at a local business and placed him under arrest.
Continuing to work on following up on the anonymous tip received, Deputies say they also located and arrested Tim DeCuir, 46, at a local convenience store.
Both Broussard and DeCuir were processed at the St. Landry Parish Correctional Center and then transported to Lafayette.
“The arrest of these two fugitives shows what happens when concerned citizens, Crime Stoppers, and law enforcement agencies work together.” Said Sheriff Guidroz, “If more people would get involved by reporting tips on crimes and the whereabouts of wanted persons, our community would be a safer place to live and to raise our families.”
