KAPLAN, La. (KLFY) A house fire early Sunday morning leaves three dead including two children, ages 1 and 3.
News Tens Emily Giangreco spoke with the father of the two young victims about losing his family and friend.
A speechless mother and a father in tears after a fire destroyed their home and took the lives of their two children.
“Everything just started collapsing, there was nothing they could have did.”
Around 5 am Sunday, Kaplan Fire Officials responded to the house fire on Romeal Road.
The fire destroyed the home killing one adult and two children.
“About two minutes into the operations we found the adult that was in the house and after knocking some of the fire down and cleaning up some of the stuff we found the two children .”
One year old Aribella, three year old Rory, and 22 year old Felicie were all victims of the fire.
Travis Hudson, father of Rory and Bella says he’s still in disbelief.
“I don’t have any words to explain how I feel or nothing. I lost my two babies, I don’t have a place to stay, I lost a car, I lost everything. Those two by being the babies, they were my world. I don’t have that no more.”
I tried speaking with their mother, Angelle, but she was at a loss for words.
Hudson says 22 year old Felicie was a close family friend and saved one of their kids lives.
“She was a great friend. She tried to help get the other two out. She got one of the three out, Angelle got the other one out and she tried to go back in and they just couldnt get to them.”
