Suspect in Philomine Street shooting turns himself in

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A man wanted in connection with Sunday’s murder of 37-year-old John Paul Batiste, has turned himself into Lafayette Police.

Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff said Brian Harris turned himself in last night and was arrested on the charge of second-degree murder.

Batiste was shot multiple times in the 100 block of Philomine Street around 5:15 p.m on October 23, 2016.

Investigators are still looking for Kirt Favors who is wanted for questioning in regards to the shooting.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Krit Favors is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
