Victim in Boys and Girls club shooting wanted in Lafayette, Patterson shootings

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A man who was shot in front of the Lafayette Boys and Girls Club in March is wanted in connection with two recent area shootings.

A juvenile suspect shot and injured Kirt Favors on March 22, 2016. The juvenile was charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and gun free zone.

Favors is wanted for questioning in the Sunday’s murder of 37-year-old John Paul Batiste of Arnaudville.

Batiste was shot multiple times in the 100 block of Philomine Street

Lafayette Police have charged Brian Harris with second-degree murder for Batiste’s death .

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said Favors is wanted for attempted second-degree murder for a shooting that happened in Patterson on Monday night.

The victim in that shooting suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Charles Joseph Jones and Dewayna Jones have been arrested in connection with the Patterson shooting.

Both were charged for attempted second degree murder. Charles Joseph Jones was also charged with discharging a firearm in a school zone.

Patterson Police have also issued a warrant for Tyrique Jones for the charge of attempted second degree murder.
